If you have been in charge of datashow services in your church for some time, you probably already faced something like this.
You have slides ready for most musics your church sang, everything nicely formatted with the church's logo and a fancy background. A nice day your pastor want to change the church's logo. Or change the font color. Or use a different formatting for a special service. Or add the song composer in the bottom. Or simply got bored of the same background. Or…
Now you have to change hundreds of slides to fit the new format. This takes a lot of time - and is a really monotonous task.
Wouldn't it be easy if you could specify the format in a single place and got it changed for all musics?
That's how Datasoul handles it. You define a template specifying all formatting information: which background to use, where the text should be placed, which font formatting should be used, alignments and so on. You must specify also which content will be shown in each text box - the lyric itself, song author, song title, etc.
Then, during the service Datasoul automatically fills the text boxes with the appropriate content, performing any adjustment needed. For example, if the lyric does not fit on the specified text box, Datasoul automatically adjust the font size to get the best fit.
On the other side, your song files will contain just the lyrics with indications of between slides and verses. A line with just ”===” indicates verse change and a line with ”==” indicates slide change within the same verse.
When you are selecting the lyrics for the service, you just need to specify which song will use which template and Datasoul does everything else. So, next time your pastor ask you any changing in the format it will not be a hard burden.
Beside the lyrics, Datasoul can also hold the chords for the songs. In this way, once you have selected the songs to next service you can easily retrieve the chords for that songs to print or send to the musicians. See how.
