This is another usage scenario for Datasoul. It's a medium to large size church. The photos were taken in First Baptist Church of Curitiba, in Brazil.
Here, a projector shows to the congregation live video from the service with two lines of the lyrics overlayed in the video. This same image is also recorded for producing service's DVDs, broadcasted over the internet and shown in TVs in the nursery, allowing mommys to follow the service while caring or feeding her babies.
To achieve this, the live video is captured by some cameras set in the temple. Datasoul produces the text to be overlayed and fills the background with a specific color - green in the example. The text color was set to white and a black outline is added to improve readability. Then, a video mixer with chroma key function replaces the green area from Datasoul's output with the live video.
Although Datasoul does not replaces the live video itself, relying in an external equipment for this, it was designed to provide a great service experience in this scenario too. To be used in this model, the lyrics should be splitted in slides with two lines each. For this reason, Datasoul uses different markups for slide split and lyric verse split. In the control screen, the operator sees a thicker line in verse split, making easy to return to the beginning of any verse. It can also automatically re-split the lyric in slides with any number of lines, respecting the verse splits.
Another interesting feature for this scenario is the Monitor Output. While the congregation is seeing just two lines of the lyrics over live video, the worship team uses the monitor output to have the lyrics in bigger format. A third video output is produced in the computer and displayed in TVs set up in the stage. This TVs shows the same lyric that is being shown in the main output and also some additional information. The content and layout of this monitor output is also configurable using templates. Other information that can be displayed there include the content of the next slide, a clock (very useful!) and a progress bar that helps to keep track of the time during the service. For example, if the preacher is supposed to use 40 minutes for the preaching, the progress bar will show how much of these 40 minutes were already used and when time approaches the end it changes its color to red, indicating that the time is running out.
